IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
The IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Program is a (3) day course which consists of (9) modules and is designed to help electronic manufacturers achieve the highest quality, highest productivity, and most cost-effective production by ensuring their workers can correctly apply the acceptability criteria of IPC-A-610. Throughout this course, employees will be trained to correctly apply the accept/non-conforming criteria for the applicable class of production: (Class 1) Consumer Products; (Class 2) General Industrial; (Class 3) High Reliability. An open book exam will be given for each module taught and a 70% score is required to pass the module/ class.
Module 1: Introduction/ IPC Professional Policies and Procedures (MANDATORY)
Module 2: Foreword, Applicable Documents, & Handling (MANDATORY)
Module 3: Hardware Installation
Module 4: Soldering
Module 5: Terminal Connections
Module 6: Through-Hole Technology
Module 7: Surface Mount Assemblies
Module 8: Component Damage and Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies
Module 9: Solderless Wire Wrap
Prerequisite/ Who Should Become Certified
An understanding of the Electronics Manufacturing Process is all that is required to benefit from the IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist Program. This course is for anyone responsible for the quality and reliability of electronic assemblies. This includes engineers, quality supervisors, inspectors and manufacturing personnel responsible for quality assurance.
